There is a story behind these images. I was given some free film while photographing for my Transmutation series. Un/surprisingly the film turned out be fogged and no matter what, I couldn't get a descent print out of these negs. So instead of trying to get closer to what the prints should have looked like, I tried the opposite and a few processes later I ended up with these images. They remind me a bit of some Man Ray images from the 1930's hence the title.
For my Transmutation series, I was trying to fuse the figure with the landscape through abstraction, while taking the photographs. I wanted to create a fluid environment where the boundaries between the body and its environment are indefinable. Oddly enough, I think I've arrived at a similar point in terms of what I wanted to achieve, even though the creative process was totally different.
